Jesus said, "True worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks" (John 4:23).

Worship means giving worth to something or someone. If someone is valuable to us, we give them gifts, words, and time. That's what Christian worship is all about. Valuing a God who cares. Gratefully remembering Christ's selfless life and death. Rejoicing that he defeated even death. Offering ourselves to live the same way. But it starts with all that God has done for us.

Worship is something that, as a human, you can't not do. Think of all the things that are worthy to you, and think of all the ways you show it. It's as if there's a God-shaped hole in us which we try to fill with the best we can offer. Work, sports, relationships, shopping, TV—anything that takes up our time, money and effort. Think how good life would be if that hole in our lives was filled with love. Only God can do that.

The Worship Ministry desires to lead the family of Joy on a journey of worship. An experience that is not just a few minutes of singing on the weekend—rather, a lifestyle of adoring our Creator and praising Him in all we do...with our whole heart, mind, body and soul. Come discover what true worship is. It will change the way you look at the world around you.

Worship LeadersOur worship team is open to anyone who would like to join us.

Worship Bands & Praise Choir
We provide the instrumental and vocal leadership for worship. We are also forming a Praise Choir, a group of people to sing along with us and worship on stage, which is currently a commitment of one week per month. If you sing or play an instrument, contact Patrick Kallestad or come join a rehearsal any Thursday night at 7:00 in the Worship Center.

Celebration Singers
We come together to sing praise and lead worship for our community at the 8:15 service on Sunday mornings, and provide special music at Lent and Christmas. Our choir is a special group that loves to gather occasionally for fellowship and fun at our homes. Want to sing with us? We're always open to new members! Contact Pastor David Tomb.

Tech Team
We serve as the backbone of the weekend services and special events held at Joy. We make sure that the community knows the words to the songs, can hear the pastors and worship music, and can follow the flow of the service. If all goes well, nobody notices that we are around and that is our ultimate goal. We gather Thursdays to have community, prepare for the weekend, and support the worship band. Weekend service is on a rotating basis and is scheduled in advance. No technical experience is necessary; come with a servant’s heart and ready to learn. If you are technically minded and would like to help with sound, video or lights, contact Eric Barz or Tyler Landgraf.
